Cahal Pech Maya Ruin & Museum

Cahal Pech ("Place of Ticks") is located on the outskirts of San Ignacio at a short 10 minute walk from the center. The Cahal Pech Museum offers displays of various different educational writings, models and other items found

at the Cahal Pech Maya Ruin. A little walk away from the museum is the actual site. It is believed that Cahal Pech was a ceremonial center with temples, palaces and a ball court and offers visitors a spectacular panoramic view of San Ignacio and the Belize River Valley.
